Ohio native ROTUNDO grew up singing and playing piano as a hobby, upon high school graduation, he joined the US Army and served four years on active duty. Never losing his love for music, ROTUNDO taught himself how to play guitar and write songs during his last year of service before moving to Nashville to launch his music career. In 2023, ROTUNDO signed a publishing deal with Curb|Word, and began releasing music.
ROTUNDO packages his singer-songwriter/country lyricism in an art-focused vision- each song released adding another brush stroke to the canvas of his soundscape. Since launching his career, ROTUNDO has released music that is founded on his unique writing sensibility in presenting common phrases that lead into double entendre hooks. Early adopters have been introduced to ROTUNDO’s love for mixing organic instrumentation with ethereal components sonically, while delivering country themes through poetic intention as showcased in his standout art piece moments in songs like “Break Even” and “Hold Your Horses”.
The Valley (December 2024 release) surmises five songs written in five days during a trip to the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles. Rotundo was raised on his grandparent’s farm, and whilst his country roots are evident in this project, he brings a modern sound that he describes as, “Screen-door R&B”. Pushing phrasing and melodic boundaries throughout each song, the collection pays homage to his pop, alt-rock and hip-hop influences and continues to elevate ROTUNDO’s vision and expression of his artistry by way of adding more brush strokes to his work, while remaining lyrically and instrumentally on task.
By pulling in notable atmospheric production elements that encapsulate energy, The Valley delivers a soundtrack for long drives with the windows down on backroads and along the coast. Bookended with ROTUNDO’s country cover of Rihanna’s “Needed Me”, The Valley presents fans with another standout art piece moment in “Slow Motions”, and the emotively urgent and hard-hitting single “Something Else”.
In 2023, ROTUNDO refocused his creative output to pursue his singer-songwriter/country solo career.
Rotundo says, “I’m someone that gets beautifully lost in the art of songwriting. I love writing songs that make you feel something. I grew up on my grandparents’ farm, and at my family’s house in a smalltown suburb. I feel like you can truly hear both of those influences in my music. I relate to the storytelling of country music, and at the same time, very modern and atmospheric production.”
Since his debut, ROTUNDO’s obtained 3.4M+ streams across DSPs and has developed his audience on social media, growing his Tik Tok audience by 74% from 94.9k followers to 165K followers, and gaining over 1.1M likes on Tik Tok since October 2023. ROTUNDO has previously toured with artists including Florida Georgia Line, HARDY, Billy Currington, Kip Moore, Mitchell Tenpenny, Nate Smith, Russell Dickerson, Uncle Kracker, Dustin Lynch and more.
