Country artist ROTUNDO has entered his desperado’s era: having released 14 songs in the first year and a half since his career debut, ROTUNDO’s debut album We Were Desperados has arrived. The first single from the record “Memory Lane” and “Heart Attack” are the first and second pages of the sonic flip book that culminates to the multi-genre influenced country album, which includes collaborations with Tayler Holder, Michael Ray and Jacob Hackworth.
Raised on his grandparent’s farm in Ohio, ROTUNDO grew up singing and playing piano as a hobby, until high school graduation when he joined the US Army to serve four years on active duty. Growing up in an environment wherein country music was king, but listening to other genres was considered cool, ROTUNDO discovered his love for other genre’s early on and found himself particularly inspired by R&B melodies vocally. He rediscovered his love for country music and storytelling during his last year of service while stationed in Georgia, where he taught himself how to play guitar and started writing songs before moving to Nashville to begin his music career.
ROTUNDO’s country roots are evident in his music as he brings a modern western-inspired sound that he describes as, “Screen-door R&B”. Packaging his singer-songwriter/country lyricism in an art-focused vision – each song released adding another brush stroke to the canvas of his soundscape – ROTUNDO releases music that is founded on his unique writing sensibility in presenting common phrases that lead into double entendre hooks. Early adopters have been introduced to ROTUNDO’s love for mixing organic instrumentation with ethereal components sonically, while delivering country themes through poetic intention. Pushing phrasing and melodic boundaries throughout each song, ROTUNDO’s music pays homage to his pop, alt-rock and hip-hop influences and continues to elevate ROTUNDO’s vision and expression of his artistry.
ROTUNDO says, “I’m someone that gets beautifully lost in the art of songwriting. I love writing songs that make you feel something. I grew up on my grandparents’ farm, and at my family’s house in a smalltown suburb. I feel like you can truly hear both of those influences in my music. I relate to the storytelling of country music, and at the same time, very modern and atmospheric production.”
Since his debut, ROTUNDO’s focused on steady growth that will lead him to his goal of playing stadiums and creating super fans. He’s obtained 5.1M+ streams across DSPs and has developed his audience on social media, growing his Tik Tok audience to 185k followers, and gaining well over 3.4M likes on Tik Tok. ROTUNDO has previously toured with artists including Florida Georgia Line, HARDY, Billy Currington, Kip Moore, Mitchell Tenpenny, Nate Smith, Russell Dickerson, Uncle Kracker, Dustin Lynch and more.
In addition to releasing his own music, ROTUNDO has written songs for other artists. He signed a publishing deal with Curb|Word in 2023 and has had his songs cut by other artists including Chase Matthew who recently cut and released ROTUNDO’s songs “You Turn” and “Sunday Clothes”.
